Instructor Bio:

Alliance Against Seclusion and Restraint Book Study Coordinator Val is an Autistic mother of 2 neurodivergent children. This is her 20th year as an Elementary Music Teacher. Her children’s school challenges have propelled her to learn about neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed practices, which she is taking into her classroom as well. She earned a graduate certificate from Butler University's Applied Educational Neuroscience program and is eager to continue her education in school leadership. She is grateful for the opportunity to learn directly from the autistic community online.
